Infection Control

Our dental practice meets, and usually exceeds, all infection control recommendations and guidelines.

These standards are mandated by The American Dental Association, The Center For Disease Control and The Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Our staff is provided with on-going training in infection control and OSHA guideline compliance. All operatories are disinfected between patients per recommendation of the ADA. Products such as bibs ejectors and cups are discarded. Reusable instruments and hand-pieces are thoroughly cleansed, individually wrapped and ultrasonically sterilized. A steam autoclave, operating at 270 degrees, is then used to assure the sterility of the instruments.

Waste materials are disposed of in accordance with appropriate guidelines.

Complete medical histories are taken on all patients and updated yearly. All clinical personnel wear latex gloves during patient care. Gloves are changed upon leaving or re-entering an operatory. Masks are worn during treatment and are changed throughout the day
